Kenya joined CIS programs at Oakland High School as a Healthy Youth Council member and has emerged as an undisputed leader this year. Coming from a non-traditional family structure she has overcome many obstacles and is making great strides both professionally and personally to excel throughout life. Kenya has an amazing outgoing and infectious personality and has demonstrated independence and citizenship skills, taking advantage of multiple volunteer opportunities through CIS. On top of all that, she worked hard on her academics this year and accumulated enough credits to graduate early! She is now enrolled at Tacoma Community College with plans to transfer to Pacific Lutheran University. She aspires to become a family practice physician with specializations in culinary medication and dermatology. With the support of her community this young lady will do great things with her future. Congratulations Kenya!
