Antoni learned about CIS at Mt. Tahoma High School when he signed up for the H.I.R.E program (Helping Interns Reach Excellence). He had been looking for a way to earn some extra money to help pay for driver’s education and a car so that he could provide transportation for his family, which they needed. However, Antoni was worried about holding down a job and managing his schoolwork at the same time. The summer internship was the perfect opportunity for him since it wouldn’t take away from his school or homework time.
After discovering the services available to him as a CIS student, Antoni was connected with tutoring to help bring his math grade up. Once his schoolwork was back on track, Antoni decided he wanted to give back and start serving his community, so he signed up for our Leader Academy to help others in need. We have seen Antoni grow into a wonderful role model for his peers as we have worked with him over the past three years. Antoni graduated in June 2018 and will be enlisting int he U.S. Army this summer so that he can continue to help others. Great job and congratulations Antoni!
