Malachi Cabera is a dedicated community organizer and civic advocate based in Tacoma, WA. With a strong background in youth engagement, workforce development, and environmental equity, Malachi has spent the majority of his personal and professional life empowering young adults especially those from historically marginalized communities to find their voice and take action. As a Pathways Navigator with Palmer Scholars, he led a 15-week pre-apprenticeship program that helped young adults of color secure union apprenticeship opportunities across Pierce and King County. Malachi now serves as the Development Coordinator for Palmer Scholars, where he manages organizational partnerships, contracts, and fundraising initiatives to expand the nonprofit’s reach and impact.
Malachi’s civic interests center on getting younger voters involved in the political process. From organizing campaigns before he could vote himself to helping lead voter outreach efforts, he believes change begins when we meet communities where they are and bring their voices to the center of decision-making. He currently serves on Parks Tacoma’s Active Lifestyles and Community Wellness Advisory Council, where he’s becoming more familiar with the organization’s structure and upcoming initiatives.
