Danielle Welch is the Controller at Absher Construction and a longtime Pierce County resident. While she has built her career in construction finance, the role she values most is being a mom to her two daughters.

Watching her daughters grow, pursue their goals, and navigate the challenges of becoming young adults has reinforced Danielle’s belief that every child deserves support, encouragement, and someone who believes in their potential. She is passionate about helping people succeed, whether that is mentoring aspiring professionals, supporting young people in her community, or simply showing up for those who need an advocate.

Professionally, Danielle oversees financial operations for a large regional construction company, bringing experience in strategic planning, financial stewardship, risk management, and organizational leadership. She hopes to use those skills to help Communities In Schools continue to grow its impact and ensure resources are available to support students and families who need them most.

Danielle was drawn to Communities In Schools because of its commitment to caring for the whole student and helping remove barriers that can stand in the way of success. She believes that when children feel supported, valued, and connected, they are capable of incredible things.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, supporting her daughters in their pursuits, and caring for the many animals that keep life busy at home. She is honored to serve on the Communities In Schools of Tacoma Board and contribute to an organization that is making a meaningful difference in the lives of local students and families.
