Having had to move in and out of four different high schools, Kendra struggled to connect with her classroom teachers and keep up with her work load. Not only has she had difficulty adjusting to a new school environment, but she has also been separated from her immediate family. It is easy to see some of the challenges Kendra has had to face and understand why school hasn’t been a priority for her.
Thankfully, Kendra reach out to Communities in Schools of Tacoma to tackle the obstacles she faced which were preventing her from graduating on time. With the help of CIS and our credit retrieval program, Kendra was able to access resources that provided her with everything she needs to continue down a path of success.
In this video below, Kendra is thanking our annual luncheon keynote speaker, Eric Boles, for meeting with her and fellow Mt. Tahoma students and empowering them to overcome their struggles.
Thank you Eric Boles for visiting Mt. Tahoma High School today. We look forward to seeing you on June 4th.
