Hope is a preschooler at McCarver Elementary who participates in our preschool literacy program READY! Set, Read-Tacoma!(RSR-T) Everyday after school, Hope and her grandma Eugenia go to the school’s library to check out RSR-T books. “I believe this program has been a positive influence with Hope because now she reads (by the pictures unless I have read the book to her /she retains what she hears and repeats it back) to her one year old cousin. Which now her cousin will hand her books and sit down so Hope will read to her. Hope will act out the book, use different voices, want to do it over and over.
