Four Mount Tahoma students were chosen to participate in the CIS HIRE (helping interns reach excellence) component of the 253 Impact Zone Initiative this summer. Students completed applications and were selected to volunteer 168 service hours, working with Rebuilding Together South Sound. Students will learn new skills and techniques around carpentry that they can take with them into the workforce. They will also spend time observing and supporting administration in the office throughout the week.

The final phase of this program will be a workshop that the students will attend to learn how to manage their personal checking accounts. Each student will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship following completion of their volunteer time for the CIS HIRE program.
