The Arlington Elementary School students who participated in the 4 day a week All Star Reader’s program took a field trip to University of Washington Tacoma campus on Friday, May 29th and experienced what it is like to be a college student. The students had a wonderful day on campus beginning with a huge welcome in a classroom setting, walking the halls, reading in the library and just hanging out.
A big thank you to Wendy Pye-Carter, Arlington Principal and her school staff for welcoming CIS of Tacoma into their school building to coordinate this reading program. A huge thank you to UW Tacoma students who tutored the elementary school students all year and Marcy Stein for training, recruiting and supervising the UW Tacoma tutors for us.
What a wonderful experience for all of us adults and kids this year!
