2019 Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive

Our annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive is going on now! This year, we hope to provide South Tacoma students with all of the supplies they need to be successful in school, starting on day one. According to the Huntington National Bank’s Backpack Index, school supply costs have nearly doubled over the past ten years. Between the cost of backpacks, the supplies to fill them, and back-to-school fees, it costs parents hundreds of dollars to send their students back to school at the start of the year. For low-income families, this is a significant burden that we hope to alleviate with the help of sponsors and community members.

Last year, Communities In Schools of Tacoma provided over 3,000 backpacks to the Greater Pierce County community. This year, we aspire to exceed that and provide over 4,000 backpacks. We think we can reach that goal with the help of local businesses, partners, and community members. If your organization would like to become a sponsor, please download and complete the below sponsorship form. You can also contact Taylor Parton at 253-571-4983 or tparton@tacoma.k12.wa.us.
