Communities In Schools of Tacoma, United Way of Pierce County, KBTC, Multicare and Rotary #8 are kicking off our 2016 “Stuff the Bus” campaign. We are inviting the public and private sectors to join us by coordinating a back-to-school drive at your work place during the month of July and/or August 2016.
This annual event is planned to give kids a jump-start on getting ready for school and will help level the playing field for even our most impoverished children and their families. Our goal is to reach over 3,000 children in the Greater Pierce County community.
Many educators say it is not uncommon to have students miss the first few days of school when they lack the basic school supplies to start the year. We feels that as long as poverty exists, the need for “Stuff The Bus” will be here. With local support from businesses, individuals and organizations, our goal is to make sure that when the school year begins, every child is prepared with the resources needed. For those who wish to participate, we ask that your business/organization complete the attached form. A school bus will pick up your donations on Thursday August 25, 2016.The impact of working together to serve our children can touch a life and make a difference.
