It’s that time of year again: the weather starts getting colder; it’s getting dark earlier; stores are putting out decorations; thoughts turn to the magic of the holidays….

For some families, though, this time of year is less about the magic and decorations and more about the dark and cold.

Communities In Schools of Tacoma offers a unique opportunity to those families who are struggling.  The Winter Wish program allows students to make requests for others they know need some help during the holiday season.

Last year, we were able to grant 114 wishes, which covered things like warm coats and clothing; full holiday meals; blankets; a car seat; books; bedding; art supplies; and shoes.

This year, we would like to be able to grant over 100 wishes, but we need your help.  You can sponsor a family, fill specific wishes, or simply make a donation–there are lots of ways to help bring some magic into the world.  If you would like to help, please email Teresa Maxwell at tmaxwel@tacoma.k12.wa.us or call 253.571.1114.
