Join us for Communities In Schools’s UN-Stuff the Bus Block Party on Thursday, August 24th at Mt. Tahoma High School. The Block Party will include FREE Backpacks filled with school supplies, student haircuts, food, music, community resources, and more.

There are a few ways you can get involved:

  1. Sponsor the event. Sponsorship of this community-wide school supply drive and Block Party ensures students in the greater Pierce County area have the tools and support they need to succeed all year long! Sponsorship opportunities can be found here.
  2. Donate to the Stuff the Bus School Supply drive. make a monetary donation.
  3. Volunteer. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, tear-down and to work the Block party. Sign up to volunteer here.
  4. Table with a vendor booth. Youth and Family focused groups/organizations are welcome to table at the Block Party. Once you complete the request to participate form, you will receive a formal application and additional details via email.

Thursday, August 24th

12 volunteers needed per shift at Mt. Tahoma High School.

SHIFT #1 12:00PM-2:00PM This shift will include set-up and moving of backpacks to prepare for distribution. Volunteers may need to lift and carry heavy items and should be comfortable being on their feet for the duration of the shift.

SHIFT #2- 2:30-4:30PM This shift will include distributing backpacks, directing participants and overall support of the event. Volunteers will need to be able to lift and carry heavy items and should be comfortable being on their feet for the duration of the shift. Limited accommodations can be made for specific tasks.

SHIFT #3- 4:00-7:00PM This shift will not only include distributing backpacks, directing participants and overall support of the event, but also support clean up after the event. Volunteers will need to be able to lift and carry heavy items and should be comfortable being on their feet for the duration of the shift. Limited accommodations can be made for specific tasks.
