Sean came to Tacoma from a small town in Virginia his sophomore year. He had trouble adjusting to a new home and a new school and he was always worried about his mother who he had left behind. Sean quickly made friends with his ROTC peers and was connected to our Mount Tahoma Site Coordinator, Ms. Tracy, for resources and community service opportunities. Sean has always struggled in school due to obstacles he faced in his home and personal life, but he has never given up hope for a brighter future. Sean was nominated by our site coordinator to attend the 2017 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards conference this month. Rotary south provided a $345 scholarship for Sean to attend the 4 day conference that was held at PLU. Sean learned so much during his time at the conference and he hopes to apply his new knowledge and skills learned to his career with the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated on time in June 2017 and came back to visit Ms. Tracy after successfully completing boot camp. We are so proud of his success!
