Moving is never easy, but it is especially hard for a young person who has attended school with the same friends for years. When Nathan’s family moved to another part of town outside of his school’s boundary area, he was faced with the choice to start all over with a new group of students and teachers, or to make the commute back to his school zone. He chose to stick with his school and is now a freshman at Mount Tahoma Nathan is a freshman at Mount Tahoma and although can be a challenge to commute from Midland to school every day, he is so grateful that he did not have to transfer schools his freshmen year. Nathan participates in our CIS Life Skills program and has only missed one day since we began the program in early October. He is happy that he has Communities In Schools to assist him with supports needed to help him succeed in school and life.
