Max joined the after school reading program a little later than his classmates, but he had little interest in reading. At first he wasn’t able to focus or stay on task, but over time, as his tutors diligently worked with him each Wednesday after school, his focus began to change. Max began to improve. This was witnessed when his mom came early to take him to an appointment, but he didn’t want to leave. He pleaded and begged to let him stay! Max is now able to focus on all of the reading activities, his DRA scores have improved (more than doubled) and he looks forward to reading his favorite books, the Bearenstein Bears at the end of each session. Max is on the road to reading success!
