Get Involved with Communities In Schools’ Ready, Set, Read-Tacoma!

We need your help!

It is our desire to serve as many families with preschool aged children as we possibly can. Please, talk about this program and about the benefits of early childhood development with your friends, family and coworkers. Get the word out! The Ready, Set, Read-Tacoma program is a free program for all preschool aged children.

Guest Readers and Library Associates

We are looking for volunteers guest readers and volunteer library associates to help out in Tacoma Public School Libraries. Guest readers will enjoy the experience of reading to young children and library associates will be able to assist a librarian with shelving books and book mending. Volunteers of Communities In Schools (CIS) must undergo a Washington State background check and must attend a CIS orientation.
