DESCRIPTION:This program is focused on providing NEW coats for the students (and their siblings) who work most closely with Site Coordinators at our partner Tacoma schools.  Coats will be distributed at a Winter Wish Event where those specific students and their families will come to pick up their coats\, hats\, and gloves\, and take part in holiday festivities.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere are a few ways you can get involved:\n\n\n\n\nBe a Collection Site for NEW Coats. DESCRIPTION:Winter Wish is an event to support Tacoma homeless students this holiday season. We are looking for sponsors to provide warm coats\, shoes\, hats\, clothes\, and pajamas for families who are currently experiencing unstable housing situations.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere are three ways to get involved:  \n\n\n\n\nShop from the online wish list here. The items you purchase will be delivered to CIST and we’ll make sure they get to the students in need. As you shop\, please ensure that items can be delivered by Monday\, December 13.\n\n\n\nRequest a shopping list and do the shopping yourself. Email Nova at nhernan@tacoma.k12.wa.us for a shopping list. Donations can be dropped off at the People’s Community Center (1602 MLK Jr. Way Tacoma\, WA 98405). Our children\, whether they’re toddlers or teens\, are undoubtedly feeling the impact of what is happening in the world around them. How do we have age-appropriate conversations with our kids? Whether you’re a parent\, aunt\, uncle\, teacher\, caregiver\, or if you have any child in your life this conversation is for you. A panelist of parents\, therapists\, and experts will discuss how we can talk to kids about hard things. Each year\, he conducts training and classes for more than 30\,000 teachers and administrators throughout the United States and Canada. \nAs the primary author for the Safe & Civil Schools series\, Randy has produced numerous articles\, books\, and multimedia presentations that assist school personnel in dealing with the issues of discipline and classroom management. His most recent publications include Foundations\, 3rd ed. (2014) and Leadership in Behavior Support (2016).
